The Unemployed Workers Help Centre

The Unemployed Workers Help Centre (UWHC) is a non-profit organization providing information and advocacy services on Employment Insurance. Our services are open to everyone in need and no fees are charged for any service.

 
 

Are you having problems obtaining your employment insurance benefits?


Have you been assessed a penalty or overpayment?


Are you interested in education and training?


Do you wish to appeal a decision made by the Canada Employment & Insurance Commission?

The Unemployed Workers Help Centre can help you obtain the employment insurance benefits to which you may be entitled.


We will:


Advise you of your rights and obligations


Mediate between you and the Employment Insurance Commission


Help prepare and present your EI appeal

Employment Insurance Information and Advocacy Services

OTHER UWHC SERVICES


Provides public education workshops and seminars on EI issues, policies and procedures.


Provides referrals to other social and

government agencies which can assist workers during times of unemployment.

If you need assistance with your employment insurance call the Unemployed Workers Help Centre near you. The Centres are open 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
